Out bicycle touring on the Croatian coast and who do we bump into but these three. No. 37 Gareth No. 152 Ouaja and No. 56 Paul from the The Transcontinental Race. Delighted to meet them as we have been following the race online from the start. Very exciting as I'll be doing this race next year if all goes to plan.
So we're on a day trip to Plitvice Lakes in Croatia and the bus stops at a petrol station in the middle of nowhere! And sure who do we spot only these two guys in the oh-so-recognisable orange Join Our Boys t-shirts! They're motorbiking across Europe to raise awareness for the three Roscommon brothers Archie, Isaac and George and their battle against DMD.
Have a look at the Join Our Boys page and if you can, do your bit to help fight his awful disease.
Sure what better way to celebrate the trip and our love of cycling but by getting a tattoo that we have been dreaming of getting for a very long time :) (sorry mams)
So after being left stranded with our bikes in Bol thanks to no boats willing to transport them, we might have blagged a free trip to Hvar with the soundest group of people ever aboard their swanky catamaran!! Massive shout out to Captain Mark and all the gang! Highlight of the trip so far!!
We set off from Salzburg 6 days ago, cycling over the Alps, attacking 20% climbs in 42' heat and then flying down winding hairpins...and now we've arrived in Grado and have completed the whole Alpe Adria! Celebrated with a swim in the Adriatic and a pot of pasta!
On to Croatia tomorrow!
So we've just crossed the border into Italy and Ciarán is adamant he is fluent in the language after years of studying Family Guy ..... I'm not so sure though...
Austria you have me hook, line and sinker!! Like some women, you know how to show a guy a good time... But my god do you have to work for it...
After climbing to 1200m we had the best craic ever on a bike hitting 62kmp on a fully loaded tourer on a hairpin filled descent.
